Through November 22nd WCA will be accepting shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child in the First Floor Reception Office.  Decorate a shoe box (or two!) with your kids and fill it with non-perishable items like school supplies, hygiene items, and small toys.  Your boxes will be sent to one of over 90 countries around the world!  For details click here.  Grades K-5 participated in a coloring contest for OCC last week.  Winners were selected from each grade level and are now posted in the First Floor Reception Office!

Join us for the WCA Holiday Bazaar this Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 16227 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD 20832.  From 10 am to 2 pm enjoy:  Dutch Olie Bollen, and Banket at the Bake Sale, Attic Treasures Sale, Children's Crafts, Children's Game Room , Face Painting, Pony Rides, Moon Bounce, Crafters Tables and more.

All WCA families are encouraged to bake a homemade treat for the bake sale.  Pies, breads, cookies are all very popular at the sale.  When you package these baked items attractively they sell even better! These may be dropped off at school the day before the Bazaar (this Friday) in Founders Hall.  Thank you for your support!

All WCA families are also encouraged to support Attic Treasures at the Bazaar by bringing in gently-used household items you no longer need. Drop these off in Room 123 before or after school the week of Nov 17-21.

The WCA Booster Club has some exciting new Wildcat Spirit Wear for sale that can be delivered before Christmas if you order before Nov 25th!  Please fill out your forms completely and turn them in with full payment to Tom Wilson in the Third Floor Office.  Checks should be written payable to WCA.  Booster club members get a $5 discount! Samples are available in the Third Floor Office starting November 21st and will be on display at the Holiday Bazaar as well!  GO WILDCATS!

GO Wildcats!  Middle and Upper School students will gather for a Pep Rally Tuesday, December 2nd at 2:16 pm in the Gym.  MS and US students are permitted to be in casual dress and wear Wildcat colors, Blue and White, the entire day of the Pep Rally. The casual dress code is: 

• Students will need to be dressed appropriately and modestly. 
• Students may wear pants (jeans are ok) or shorts (no more than 3 inches above the knee). 
• T-shirts may be worn, but no tank tops or tight-fitting tops may be worn. 
• No midriffs or bare skin may show at any time. 
• No inappropriate labels or logos on clothing.
• Students should wear sneakers and socks.  
• Hats may be worn during outdoor activities only. 

Please remember to check your child's lunch account weekly at https://www.mymealtime.com/signin.aspx to be sure there are sufficient funds.  If your child's account is low, your child will be permitted to purchase up to $6 worth of food on credit (this will more than cover one lunch).  After that, they will need to bring a lunch from home until there are funds in the account. You can add funds online with a credit card or avoid extra fees by sending in a check (minimum $40 please) with your child to be turned in at homeroom or at the office first thing in the morning.  Monthly Menus are posted here:  Menus.  Please note the new K-2 ordering procedures detailed in the recent parent letter (also posted with the menus).  If you have questions about your account or cannot log on contact Julie Bridges at extension 313 or jbridges@washingtonchristian.org .
